Internet Overtakes Newspapers as News Outlet
There’s no question we all saw this coming, but now it’s a reality: The Internet has surpassed all other media—except television—as an outlet for national and international news.
According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, 40% of respondents say they get most of their news about national and international issues from the Internet, up from 24% in September 2007. And for the first time, more people say they rely mostly on the Internet for news than on those black-and-white dinosaurs that I used to toss into my customers’ hedges circa 1981.
